The Physician Leader in Social Media
A couple weeks ago I sent a PM message on twitter to Kevin Pho of KevinMD.com, a leading physician voice on the Interwebs and social media, asking if he would consider sharing one of my posts.
To my surprise, he responded and said he would send it off for editing and to go on his site. I’m not sure if he’s desperate for content or if he even read my post, however I was very excited he agreed to share it.
This blog is less than 4 weeks old and I’m still sorting everything out, so having readers of his site learn about my writing will hopefully bring more people directly to this site. That in turn will keep me motivated to continue writing. That in turn will benefit all of humanity in ways. The most likely outcome is peace in the Middle East.
The KevinMD post was based on this one — my first mistake as a physician. I have no idea what changes have been made as I have not yet seen the edited one for his site. I read and re-read and spellcheck/grammarcheck my content, but I do not have an in-house editorial staff. What I do have is my wife, Rogue Mom, who after every post so far has told me she has found something needing correction, then never tells me what she found. So hopefully whatever typos or grammatical errors were in the original post have been fixed by Kevin et al.
If you are one of the regular readers of my blog (hi, Rogue Mom! You can email me to let me know of typos), you can read the article on Kevin MD here. I was told it will be active before 11pm eastern time on 5/2/17 — so if you click now and it doesn’t work, go back and check later.
If some of you have made your way to this site because from KevinMD — Welcome! Please go read a little about me and this blog. You can read my first ever post, about country music and religion and life, here. You can find my other posts on our homepage (I don’t have enough content to worry about an “Archive” page yet). You can sign up to receive email notifications of new posts (and hopefully at some point this summer an actual newsletter) here. You should definitely follow me on Twitter or Facebook. If you want to send me a message or are interested in advertising, go here to contact me.
My goal is to provide new content every Friday — that’s when I will share the things I’ve spent a bit more time pondering and editing. It’s a slow pace that I want to maintain — I have plenty of content drafted, but only so much time in a week to write. I’ll occasionally have more impromptu content on other days, so to make sure you don’t miss anything, sign up for email updates or follow me on FB/Twitter.
Keep an eye out for my next post, 5/5, tentatively titled, Love and Marriage (and Money).
